Miami Beach is actually a long stretch on the entire east coast of Miami, and Bal Harbour is located roughly in the middle of the stretch (being on about 100th street). The beach of Miami Beach (known in this area as Bal Harbour Beach) is a wide and clean beach, is mostly private except for the two public access points, and offers a scenic walking path and a jetty for fishing and sightseeing. The area near the jetty is a favourite of surfers. Public access to the beach at 96th Street and Collins Avenue, and at 102nd Street and Collins, next to the Haulover Inlet, actually 4 blocks from the apartment, or across the street if park near the main entrance of the village.
